why ai ui needs taste
ask ai to generate a website and it can assemble one in seconds. the structure works, but most generated interfaces feel related: the same grids, gradients, spacing, and components with different words.
design is not only structure. it is judgment: whether a border should exist, whether a transition delights or annoys, and when whitespace should do the work. taste is thousands of small decisions compressed into something that feels simple.
jasmine started with a question: what if ai could design with a point of view? the goal is not to replace designers. it is to raise the baseline so a generated interface feels deliberate rather than default.
if ai is going to build the next generation of interfaces, it cannot only generate code. it has to learn taste.
